Aqara G3 Camera - Not working in HomeKit

I recently purchased the Aqara G3 camera. Connected it to the Aqara app easily and then proceeded to have issues trying to get it into HomeKit. Received “Accesory Not Found” error multiple times when attempting to add. Finally, and for seemingly no reason, it went through and now appears in HomeKit. I was able to stream video from it in HomeKit for several hours before it stopped. Now, the snapshot just updates the amount of time since it last worked and when I click it, it just circles until it says No Response.

This whole time, works perfectly in the Aqara app, which suggests (IMO) that it is a HomeKit issue.

I have tried resetting the device, restarting my phone, restarting router, and restarting the HomeKit hub (Apple TV). I have also removed and re-added the device to HomeKit, surprisingly easily, I might add. Issue still persists.

I have an iPhone 12, fully up to date.

G3 camera is up to date.

Apple TV is up to date.

It may also be worth noting that I also purchased a G2H Pro camera which has worked flawlessly in both Aqara app and HomeKit so far.

Hello Fox-7,

This page can help out with providing the available steps to try for issues with an accessory giving the 'No Response' error in the Home app: If your HomeKit or Matter accessory isn't responding in the Home app - Apple Support

If accessories from one manufacturer aren't responding
Check if your smart home accessories are responding in the Home app after each step.
1. Turn on Bluetooth in the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad, or in System Settings on your Mac.
2. Restart any accessories that aren't responding. You may have to take the batteries out of your accessory and put them back in.
3. Check the manufacturer's app to see if accessories that aren't responding in the Home app need a firmware update. If the accessories aren't responding in the manufacturer's app, you may need to reset them.
4. Restart any third-party bridges and all home hubs (HomePod, HomePod mini, and Apple TV) by unplugging then plugging them back into power.
5. Remove accessories that aren't responding from the Home app. Select an accessory, scroll down to accessory settings, and select Remove Accessory. If you don't see the option to remove the accessory in the Home app, it must be removed through the manufacturer's app. After you remove the accessories, follow the manufacturer's instructions to reset them and add them to the Home app again.
If your accessories still aren't responding, contact the manufacturer for support.

The page will also help to provide some other suggestions prior to reaching out to the manufacturer, such as checking for any installed VPNs or security software. If any are installed try temporarily uninstalling them to help rule out any conflicts.

Cheers.

I have a had similar problems with the Home app with one Aqara camera. The original setup worked fine until about a week ago when I got notifications as the Camera randomly changed status - Home/Away. - without anyone leaving or arriving.

Then I noticed the Camera was not responding in the Mac OS Home App on a Mac Mini, but was responding on a MacBook Air and iPad..Then the camera stopped responding to genuine events like everyone leaving and someone arriving .

No matter what I do I can't replicate the original setting of Home/Stream and Away/Stream & Allow Recording triggered by Phone location .. whether I use Scenes or Automations makes no difference.

All the trouble shooting steps (as outlined by Eric) have not fixed it.

I spent a good hour with Apple Tech trying to troubleshoot the same problem. I am not tech savvy, but I fo recognize when menus aren’t working right. I think the problem is with Apple updates. I have 4 Aqara cameras and one of another mfg and none show clips. I tried setting up a new Home on my iPad, but I just get a screen with no menus.
