All windows disappear when fn key is pressed

Ever since I updated to OS 12.6.9, the operation of the fn key on my 2015 Mac Book Pro has been set to hide all open windows and show the desktop. Pressing fn again restores all the windows. Very annoying. Yes I looked in System Preferences - Keyboard - Shortcuts and restored system defaults. And Yes I looked at System Preferences - Keyboard - Set fn key to ..... and I set it to "do nothing", but it still hides all windows. I even tried setting the fn key to "Show emojis" and now it hides all the windows AND shows the stupid emoji's. So I set it back to do nothing, still hides all windows. Why did they change it and what can I do the put it back to doing nothing?

Greetings MichaelDavid040,

We understand that the Fn key is not working as expected on your Mac and we'd love to provide you with some guidance that may help correct the behavior:

1. Restart your Mac. This may seem like a simple step to take. However, it refreshes your Mac and the software. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > Restart.

2. Start up your Mac in safe mode. Completing this step can help you identify whether issues you’re experiencing are caused by software that loads as your Mac starts up. Your screen may flash and load slower. This is expected behavior for this mode: Use safe mode on your Mac

3. Verify if the issue occurs in a new user account. This will allow you to determine if the behavior is specific to your account or if it is a system wide issue: Add a user or group on Mac
