Need help with Old 2012 Mac Book Pro that shows no update for newer Safari 17

My bank won't let me access my account because it is saying my browser is out of date. My late 2012 Mac Book Pro is running Catalina 10.15.7 and the Safari is 15.6.1. It shows no updates for Safari. A search doesn't bring up any updates. If I go to the app store, there is no Safari update. I've searched all the articles I can find and nothing helps. Is my computer too old to update? Is it not available. I read that anything 2012 or later should be able to be updated. Please help!!! Thank you.

That bank needs to stop using the outdated and privacy-intrusive "user agent" query.

There is nothing wrong with your Mac's version of Safari, but that bank is using an outdated and ill-conceived method of determining browser requirements. The workaround for end users who are unable to update their Macs to a newer macOS version is to use a different browser.

Consider Brave:

Firefox is a distant second choice:

If you are so motivated direct your bank's attention to the WWW publication User-Agent Client Hints (courtesy VikingOSX).
