Why can't I download a song from itunes that I was given as a gift onto my laptop? It's on my phone right now but I want to listen to it on my computer, and apparently I need an apple music subscription.

I have an iphone 12 and a powerbook running Ventura

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.5

You should be able to download it to your Mac without a subscription: Redownload music - Apple Support
