It depends which version you have, this is controlled by the region in which the iPhone is intended to be sold and used. The USA and North America versions are eSIM only. The versions intended for the China market have two slots for physical SIMs and as far as I know, no support for eSIM. The versions intended to be sold in all other areas (Rest of World) have one slot for physical SIM, and can also support eSIM.
