Cut and paste long text messages

I send multiple long texts to different individuals. I don't always do group texts. I simply cut and paste then scroll up to the top to change the name. With iOS 17.0.3 when I attempt to go up to the top of the message and take my finger off the phone it drops back down to the bottom of the message.

Any suggestions of something I might have missed with this update?

Send Later Messages iOS 18 doesn't work with non-iPhones? Just got iOS 18 (on an iPhone 15 Pro) and what I'm seeing is that if I set a Message to "Send Later" and then in the To: field put in the name of someone in my Contacts whose number is labeled "mobile" (green texts), the Send Later indicators disappear and I can only send it immediately. If I put in the person's name first, the Send Later option isn't even available. Anyone else able to duplicate this?

Naming a Group for Text Message I cannot name a group for text messaging in my iPhone 13 ProMax. When I tap the top of the thread it just expands the group. I do not get the choice for anything put to expand or close down the contacts in that group

Messages on IPhone splitting into new conversations/strings I see comments from 2014 on messages in group texts being split into multiple strings but nothing since. My phone is doing this now. Is there a fix?

Compose the message in Notes and use the share button to share it to messages.
