Gifting single songs from iTunes

Has anyone found a way to gift singles from iTunes lately? I tried the suggestions given in this thread earlier today but nothing worked. One young lady stated that if you clicked on the song and then looked at at the top of the screen an option would appear which would allow you to click to gift the song. Well, I clicked on the song but everything at the top of the screen remained the same, no other options appeared. I feel as though iTunes is basically holding us hostage, either buy the entire album or go pound sand. Guess what iTunes, sand it is for me because I refuse to fork over the money when all I want to do is send someone ONE SINGLE SONG from that album. Guess I’ll just head over to Amazon music and see if I have any better luck. I will come back and update here with my results.

"If there's an issue when you send a gift

The recipient of your gift must have an Apple ID in your country or region. For example, if you're in the United States, you can't send a gift to a friend who lives in Australia.
In some regions, you can't send gifts. Store availability also varies by country or region. Learn what's available in your country or region.
If you use Family Sharing and Ask To Buy is turned on for your account, you can't purchase gifts.
You can't gift individual songs on an iPhone or iPad. To gift a song, use your Mac or PC.
You can't gift apps, TV shows, or movies on a Mac or PC. To gift those items, use an iPhone or iPad.
You can't gift a free app or item. But you can tap the Share button or the arrow button to share a link to the app or item."

Muhsketchy,

As noted in bullet 4 of Wins's post, if you are gifting from the iTunes Store on an iPad or iPhone, the only option will be to gift the full album. But if you are on iTunes or Music on a computer, gifting a single song is an option. "Gift this song" is the first thing on the pull-down menu, as pictured below.
