You can use a USB-A cable. The pros would be they are more common in certain settings like ports in cars, airports, or planes. Most other settings just use USB-C now. USB-C has much faster charging and data transfer than USB-A so I’d recommend this when possible. USB-A to USB-C cables also have trouble powering iPads and laptops sometimes because of their lower power output.
