Is it possible to make Music app consume less space on iPhone?

I was looking up why my iPhone storage was full, and the first app to appear was Music with 23 Gb, even tho I have downloaded no music. I tried uninstalling it but to no avail. Is there some way to make it take less space?

Hi Paul-Hus,

As your iPhone is not calculating the storage correctly restart your iPhone Restart your iPhone so it will recalculate it and check again.

If it continues, as the Music app updates with the iOS, make sure you are up to date Update iOS on iPhone.

The next step, if it still shows storage, would be to delete the app and restore it by following Delete built-in Apple apps from your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.

If nothing above worked, your next step will be to contact Apple for support as you've done all you can on your end. Get Support

Take care.

This happened to me as well after I had subscribed to Apple Music and then downloaded a lot of songs. I then cancelled Apple music - the songs remain listed in Apple music's storage and in other content, but there was no way to clear, and the setting to Optimize Music to save space was no longer available. To solve, I had to sign back up to Apple music, enabled Optimize Music at the smallest size level, then re-synch my iPhone to iTunes. After a couple of attempts, my 100GB of inaccessible storage went away, and my phone back to normal, and I cancelled Apple Music again.
