Photo mark up in dark mode

Since iOS17, when I edit a photo it goes into dark mode. Makes it very difficult to see the mark-up tool bar tools

iPad Air, 17

Thank you for your comment, Sean B, but my iPads and iPhone ARE ALREADY set to “Light” mode, not “Dark”. When I use the mark-up tool in Pages or elsewhere, the toolbar is white and the choices of tools are bright and easy to use.

ONLY in editing Photos, since updating to iOS 17, is there a problem. When you select “edit” for a photo, it opens in “Dark” mode and when selecting the mark-up tool, the toolbar is black and the distinct tools are difficult to see. See below:

Thank you, Mario49. I have done so and was passed around to several specialists. When I asked them to check editing a photo on their iPhones, they found the same situation. My last Apple Support contact, Hector, said he’d check this effect with engineering but if engineering deems it a normal situation then it won’t be addressed without considerable more user input. It is not “normal “ because it ONLY occurs in photo editing, not in Pages or anywhere else I use the mark-up tool.

So if you find that when you go to edit a photo it goes to dark mode, PLEASE contact Apple Support.
