How to login to a different Apple ID account in the App Store?

So I just figured this out, you need to open settings go, to your profile, click on media and purchases and click log out.

Then go back to the App Store and you should be able to login to a new account. Hopefully this helps 😊

iPhone 13, iOS 16

You are correct. If you simply wish to make purchases with a different account this is one of there few cases where you can use two different accounts on a mobile device. Just use the other account for media and purchases alone.

I think an earlier reply to your post may have confused things in terms of signing out of an Apple ID entirely, making the purchase with a second ID, then signing back into the entire device with the first ID again. This is not a good way to do this because signing in and out again regulary may mess with your abilities to do other things. See View and remove your devices that are associated with Apple ID purchases - Apple Support - Read "More about associated devices" at the end where it refers to a 90 day wait. This applies to re-downloading past purchases (you can make new purchases), automatic downloads, and iCloud based services such as Family Sharing, Match, and Apple Music. Also signing in and out of an ID used for everything on your device means you might end up undesirably merging or erasing data between the two accounts.
