iPadOS 17 markup glitch

my iPad 9 on ios17.3 does this thing specifically when i'm writing on a zoomed-in screenshot (just taken)

the image "glitches" when the apple pencil tip meets the screen (the pixels become smoother, and the screenshot moves, like, 1 millimeter to the side), and goes back to normal when i remove it.

that didn't happen on ios 16. maybe it's an automatic AI image enhancer that only gets triggered when the pencil's touching the screen?
