A hub or docking station could help a lot. There are all sorts of these, ranging from simple USB-A hubs that plug into a USB-C port, to USB-C docks, to Thunderbolt docks. Some are large enough that they are meant mostly for home/office use. Some are small and easily tossed into a good laptop bag.

If you know what your current and likely device mixes are, that could help you narrow down which hubs or docks would be most suitable for you.
