I have a 1TB external SSD that I store media files (photos and music) on. It is a large collection and would not fit on my main drive. What options do I have to backup these files. I assume that Time Machine only functions for my main drive. I do have a NAS connected to my computer (2020 M1 Mac Mini 13.5.2. One section of it is synced with another NAS at my daughters home in another state.

TM will also back up your external drives as long as they are not excluded in the TM preference pane. They are normally excluded by default but you can change that.

So all files on the internal drive plus all files on an external drive would be backed on a common external drive?
