Why can’t we turn off the new iMessage voice message transcription?

I agree with both of you- I have friends who live across the country and our main form of communication is voice messaging- this update is making our ability to message difficult with time differences and not having time to just sit and type it all, plus emotions and tones do not usually get conveyed accurately as stated previously. I’ve been waiting for an 8 minute voice message to send for over 20 minutes now which is ludicrous

I agree. This should be a feature that we can turn off. It takes messages WAY too long to send.

My mom and I send long-format voice messages to each other daily (10-20min), so this takes a crazy long time to send. And the transcript isn’t even accurate.

ALSO, I noticed if I actually do have the time to monitor it to see that it sends, if I want to save my sent message, it doesn’t always stick around. Sometimes it does disappear even when I click “keep”. Very annoying.

The transcriptions are totally wrong, so it’s essentially changing my message to the recipient. That’s the opposite of communication.

the above guy’s points are exactly mine - can you please change the new update so that we can turn OFF transcription of the voice notes asap? it’s a major hassle for those who are used to jsut the record and send quick audio file.
