My Location does not update in realtime. This is a problem when using map/hiking apps.

When I am using Google Maps or AllTrails, my location is identified when I start, but does not update as I move forward in vehicle or walking. I have gotten off course on trails due to there not being accurate location information.

Google Maps location not updated My google maps location has been shared with my husband but sometimes when he tries to track me he can not see my location and the icon is greyed out, however when I access google maps it gives real time update to him. Also note that my background refresh for the app is on and location option also has always selected.

ios 17.3 location isn’t working for maps or google maps i recently got the most recent software update (ios 17.3) and i have tried to use maps and google maps and both of them will have the directions and destination, but lose track of my location on the way. i have checked all of my settings and my location is on for the apps and my precise location is on, but it still can’t track my current location correctly. is there anything i should try doing besides the basic stuff like restarting the apps and my phone??

When that problem occurs, do you see the compass symbol in the upper left corner of the picture below?

please turn on "Precise Location" on settings, and you may solve this problem.
