iPhone 15 Pro Max now has bad 5G / 5GUC connection since 17.0.3 update.

Since I have updated my iPhone 15 Pro Max to 17.0.3 today. I am hardly getting any bars on 5G / 5GUC (T-Mobile). I am now usually connected to LTE in areas I would have a great 5GUC connection. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

My last phone was the XS Max in which I have no 5G due to the phone not supporting it. So I have noticed a huge difference upgrading to the 15 Pro Max and now after this update it feels like I’m back to the speeds my XS Max had. Everything else is great and the phone is running cooler. But at the expense of barely any 5G coverage.

Same here, I went from the iPhone 11 Pro to the 15 Pro Max, so I'm new to 5G... So far I have NEVER been able to connect to ANY 5G network. The other day I was driving with someone who had an iPhone 12 and the same mobile provider, he had full 5G and I had 2 bars of 4G! I've been to Brussels, Paris, London and NY recently and have never ever seen 5G appear. I contacted Apple support, we went through all sorts of tests, the conclusion was that there is "nothing wrong with my phone". I spent a lot of money in the top of the line model but apparently it comes with big flaws. Problem unsolved. Gutted.

I have an iPhone 15 pro max. The signal

is horrible . Phone calls are actually one dropping in and out and making that horrible weird noise and can hear about every 3rd word when you are not on WIFI even though I am a block from my house, IN A LARGE CITY!!

ugh! I’m to the point of give me my money back so I can get an android, give me partial payment back for this is horrible and I work in sales and need my phone!

I’m noticing this on Verizon on a 15 pro max on 17.3. I live in Chicago and I’m regularly having my entire connection drop and show SOS or a satellite. So it is more than just losing 5g. In 2 years with a 13 pro max, I never noticed it happen unless for an obvious reason (e.g., inside an old building). Now I see it constantly—out on the street on a clear day, with few buildings around, on the metra above ground, in my house, at work, etc. I’ve never had an issue at any of these places in the past. I don’t know if this started with specific update because in my time with the phone I’ve never not had the issue.

I’ve had an 14 pro for at least a year on T-Mobile. I’m mainly in the Phx area and when I see the UC symbol I know the connection is going to slow to a crawl. iPhone needs a better way of determining whether the data connection is robust enough to support UC especially on the edge of the tower. And if it doesn’t meet a certain criteria should roll off onto 5G which has much better distance to connect and transeive data. Really a feature new iPhones must include
