Apple Card : Carrier question

I have a mint mobile plan and won’t like to changed back to any other carrier company. I want to also apply for the Apple Card but it said in order for it to work I have to have it in either of t-mobile , AT&T, or Verizon. Why is that ? Can I still use the card if my carrier isn’t those big three ?

The only restriction requiring one of those 3 carriers is if you want to buy a new iPhone using interest-free Monthly Installments. See the following from footnote 2 in Products you can buy from Apple with Apple Card Monthly Installments - Apple Support

You’ll need to select AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon as your carrier when you check out. An iPhone purchased with ACMI is always unlocked, so you can switch carriers at any time.
