Find My app cannot remove item

I have two Chipolo One Spot tags that worked fine with the Find My app until a couple of months ago. Then the Find My app stopped being able to find/locate either tag.

I tried changing the batteries in both tags, which didn’t help. I then reset both tags to their factory settings, thinking that would allow the app to rediscover the tags. Nope.

I then tried removing the tags from the app. But when I did that I kept getting the error “Unable to remove the item, please try again later.” Multiple attempts to remove the tags gave the same error.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Find My app, with no success. Both tags still appear in the app’s Items list, and trying to remove them gives the same error. I even tried removing the batteries from the two tags, still with the same result.

I contacted Chipolo about the problem, who said the issue must be with the Find My app, since neither tag are active once they’ve been reset.

Any suggestions on how I can remove the two tags from the Find My app’s list of items?
