when connected to CarPlay, my phone does not light up when I get notifications from 3rd party apps such as Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, etc. is there a reason for this? The notifications get delivered “quietly” and the screen stays black

If you have a Do Not Disturb enabled for driving, that's likely what is causing them to be delivered quietly. You can change settings for that following How to turn Do Not Disturb on or off on your iPhone - Apple Support

Hi, notifications appear and screen lights up when NOT connected to CarPlay. Once connect the screen remains black when the notifications are delivered with no noise of vibration. I have restarted my phone and I am using an iPhone 14 pro max on iOS 17.0.3
I don’t have DND on that’s why I am so confused and I can’t figure out why this is happening. I’m also using an iPhone 14 PM on iOS 17
