Can’t get rid of pop up window with message “LookupModuleDaemon” will damage your computer

After clearing cashe and restarting my MacBook Air, a pop up window with the message “LookupModuleDaemon” will damage your computer appeared. After running malware removal from CleanMyMacX, the pop up window persists and cannot be closed.

CleanMyMac malware removal confirmed the computer is clean.

Can anyone please explain what has gone wrong and what is the solution?

It should be, depending on exactly what CleanMyMac "cleaned", and sometimes people don't even know. That's the reason I gave up on trying to salvage Macs that have been affected not only by it, but any similarly categorized "cleaning" product.

Solutions short of erasing the affected Macs are certainly possible, but time-consuming, with no guarantee of success.

Definitely create a Time Machine backup if you have not done so already: Back up your files with Time Machine on Mac - Apple Support.
