my mac won't download the newest version of macos

I am trying to download the latest version of macOS but it will not download I have internet and my battery is at 100%

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.13

Sonoma requires following Mac models.

macOS Sonoma is compatible with these computers - Apple Support
