I have gen2 airpods.
There is no tap/gestures menu for left and right airpod in the bluetooth settings.
I tried to forget and reset the airpods, several times. Case and airpods are fully charged. Restarted the iphone.
Airpods have all the latest updates. Same with my iphone.
I even tried my friend's gen2 airpods — same, no control settings.

It turned out i have gen3 airpods.
And there is no control meny for gen3.
And i used to tap on them to pause, play or skip songs.
However, now everything works when i click on the stem using two fingers.
