Hi Swim12,

We appreciate you reaching out to us.

We’d like to gather additional details that may help us be in a better position to assist you.

Did you purchase one of the latest Apple Watch models?

If yes, we'd like you to know that your device came with the watchOS 10 preinstalled.

As mentioned in the article below, "watchOS 10 requires iPhone XS or later with iOS 17."

In case you are not aware, you can update your device to the latest version of iOS 17.

If you are going to update your device, please secure a backup first.

If you are not quite ready to install iOS 17 yet, you may want to check out the other Apple Watch models that did not come with watchOS 10 preinstalled.

For most countries and regions, you have 14 calendar days to return your device for purchases made on the Apple Store or the Apple Online store.

Take care!

Me too. Just received a new Series 9 GPS + Cellular Apple Watch thru AT&T and tried to set it up with my iPhone 13 with iOS Version 16.7.2. Says I need iOS 17 but software will not update on my iPhone.

My iPhone 13 is plugged in, connected to WiFi with 78% power level not in low power mode, has 72.74 GB of available storage, no VPN and iCloud is not updating. I have closed all apps and turned off/restarted the iPhone 3 times but continues to show “Preparing Update…” but never updates.
