Apple USB Keyboard via CalDigit mini hub no longer working

Hi,

After the SONOMA update, the apple USB keyboard is no longer working via the Caldigit mini hub on my Macbook air. If I use an adapter and connect it directly to the MacBook air, the keyboard does work.

Unfortunately, the Air only has 2 USB-C ports of which I use one for power and the other for the Caldigit minihub to connect 2 monitors.

Any suggestions on how to get the keyboard working again via the mini hub?

I am having a simliar issue after upgrade to Sonoma and this worked just fine before the upgrade. I tried connecting 2 different keyboards to my StarTech hub, but no luck. I also tried using a different ThinkPad hub, but still the same issue. Both keyboards that I tried are Apple keyboards, not some 3rd party stuff.

A bizarre thing is the keyboard input actually works on the Login screen for entering a password, but then it goes stops working after that.

This is beyond annoying because this is my everyday work computer.

The workaround that seems to work is that I am plugging keyboard directly into an available USB-C port on the computer (via adapter from USB-A), but I should not have to do this and have wires running all over my desk.

Apple, what do you keep failing with these upgrades?
