Please give me a solid way to get rid of the red alerts that I have already seen, read and chosen not to utilize.

I tried to get rid of the badge notification by saying no to checking for software updates. (I am responsible enough to check on a regular basis)

However, I am still receiving the "1" in red on my settings gear. It is distracting and stupid.

If I choose not to upgrade to another OS then that is that.

I would appreciate a way to stop future irrelevant notifications (besides masking tape), so I can focus on the ones that are actually relevant to me and my computer usage.

Of course, I recognize this is MY opinion and not the collective beehive mind of Apple, since I am the one who purchased the computer and in my opinion, it is still my my choice how to run it.

I have zero intention of immediately going to the next OS which is not tried and true. I will WAIT until my inner guidance says to do so bc I am not a robot, nor do I wish to become one.

Feeling frustrated because I already did what other threads suggested,

Absolutely true

Well, no. You bought the hardware but you only licence the use of the operating system. You don't buy it and you don't own it. That licence is - which you agreed to when you installed whatever the current OS on your machine is - offered 'as is'. So you can choose what OS to have on the hardware you own, but how the OS runs is not yours to decide. within the options it offers you. . And this is true of all the other operating systems too, not only Apple's.

So you're suggesting that the tens of thousands of Beta testers who ran the system for 4 months are robots? And the millions who have installed it since release with no issues? Are they robots too? How about all the experienced and knowledgeable people who have already updated? Is your inner guidance computer literate?
