That only works for SOME apple news articles (not sure why this is the case). Other ones come up with:

"Open this story in Apple News. For the best reading experience, open this story on a device with Apple News. It may also be available on the publisher’s website."

You can try to go directly to the publisher's website and search for the article you're trying to bring up, but sometimes it's difficult to find it.

I have a Windows Pc and get the Apple News email daily. Some of the of the articles are viewable and others viewable only through an annoying paywall. It's 2024 and I pay annually for my Apple Subscription but am held captive to Apple only products to fully view...you'd think Apple could figure out a better way to protect their subscription other than limiting it through a low tech system.

There does not exist an Apple News application for Windows. However, if you open an Apple News link in any web browser, you will be automatically redirected to the article on the publisher's website.

Although that is true, often only the beginning of the article is shown. So the benefit of paying for Apple One to receive Apple News is not available to me on my PC. Any solution?

The problem is getting to the article in the first place. I can listen to Apple Music in my Chrome browser on my Windows machine. Is there no way to do the same with Apple News?

With some articles when I opened them on my computer, I logged in with my Apple account and that circumvented the pay page, and let me read the article.
