Wallpaper Photo Shuffle problems

I'm using an iPhone 14 Pro Max, with ios 16.6.1. I have my wallpaper set to photo shuffle, with the frequency set to hourly. The problem I'm experiencing is that sometimes a new photo appears at the new hour. However, other times, the same photo will remain for 3 or 4 hours. Picking up my phone or locking and unlocking it has no affect on this.

I've tried restarting my phone, re-setting my wallpaper, etc., all to no avail. I assume this is a flaw in the wallpaper feature that hopefully will be corrected with ios 17. However, if there is a present fix to this, I would be interested in knowing it.

Hello dwb77,

If you haven't already done so, let's use the steps below to get your iPhone updated to the latest iOS 16.7, as it contains important bug fixes:

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

Should that still persist, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support: Apple Support They'll be in the best position to look into this further.

Take care.
