Siri won’t play my own playlists

The first thing to know is that I buy my songs, I do not use streaming services, so I do not have an Apple Music plan. I use to be able to ask Siri to shuffle any of my playlists that I have created but now it usually goes like this: “Hey Siri, shuffle my oldies playlist.” And now Siri responds with “Now shuffling oldies... Sorry, there was a problem with Apple Music.” And then immediately after when I open the music app to manually shuffle the playlist, there’s a screen that comes up saying “Get 1 month of free music.” This only happens with the playlists that I have created. If I ask Siri to shuffle Taylor Swift songs for example, or ask Siri to shuffle Hard Rock music, it works. For whatever reason my playlists seem to be the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out TechSurge,

It sounds like you're having trouble with Siri playing your playlists. We can help.

Let's try and rule out an issue with your existing playlists by creating a new one and seeing if the behavior continues. If it does, you can make sure you're on the latest version of iOS, which is currently iOS 17.0.2: Update iOS on iPhone.

If you continue having trouble with playlists, you can connect with Apple directly to report the behavior using either Get Support or if you're in a region without direct support options, you can also Contact Apple for support and service.

Hope that helps.

Take care.
