One Time Passcodes Not Automatically Copying from SMS to Safari

Hello, When prompted by credit card companies to enter a one time passcode to finalize a transaction via Safari, the one time passcode, when sent by said companies via SMS, are not automatically pasting into the field where it needs to go.

It used to work once upon a time, but it hasn't in a while. I've tried putting the cursor in the field where the paste needs to go, and still, the one time passcode won't show above the keyboard like it used to. I've tried with Safari and Firefox on Iphone 13. I also just updated to IOS 17.0.2 and it's still not working (also didn't work prior to the update)

As mentioned--this feature used to work--I would be prompted to enter a one time passcode by Capital One to finalize a purchase--and once that code arrived via SMS, it would appear just above the keyboard, and I could tap it and it would instantly paste into the field without me having to exit safari > messages > find code > copy code > return to Safari > paste code.

Anyone have any suggestions? I've read on it briefly and the one "fix" I found was to adjust a few settings, restart phone, try again, but that has failed. Thanks!
