Why isn’t Apple TV + working on Cox or Sony Tvs. It had worked seemlessly up until a few weeks ago.

I can choose the ap and it will say it is going to a third party app and it looks as if it is going to open and it just goes blank.

I still have the same issue. Also worked fine until some weeks ago (I do not remember exact date,). Now I just get the logo then a black screen.

In my first discussion with Cox they said it was a software update problem that caused it. I am not sure whose software changed. I checked with them again today.

Today they think it all should work fine as all other streaming services do.

It works fine on my PC.

Other apps work on my TV with Cox.

All devices have been power cycled.

Suggestions please?

I will cancel my Apple subscription if I cannot watch it.

We understand you're having trouble using the Apple TV app and we can help.


If you haven't already, try clearing the app data or reinstalling the app.


For Sony TVs with Android or Google TV, you can follow these steps to clear the app cache and data:

Clear data and cache on your Android TV or Google TV when apps aren't working properly


If the issue continues, try restarting all of your networking devices as well. This means your modem and router.


These steps can clear a connection issue you might be having.
