No longer able to add music since the last new updates.

Ever since the new operating iOS 7 system updates, I have been unable to add music as part of my Apple Music subscription.

I had no problems whatsoever adding music before the current new operating system updates, but now I am unable to add music via my Apple TV and my iMac Music, also since the new operating system updates my Music no longer syncs.

I have a feeling that patch is needed to solve this problem, and finally resume syncing Music and being able to add music again.

It's very frustrating as there seems to always glitches every time a new operating system is installed.

Please help!

Hi ladyferry,

We'll need a bit more information so that we can provide more precise troubleshooting steps.

  • Are you using Sync Library to sync your music, or are you syncing it manually?
  • When you say music no longer syncs, what exactly is happening? Are you seeing an error message or alert? The more information you provide, the better equipped we'll be to help.
  • You also said you're unable to add music. What happens when you try?

If needed, here's some information on using Sync Library and manually syncing:

Use Sync Library with your Apple Music subscription

Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer

Regards.

Hi ladyferry,

We understand that you're not seeing any alerts when you attempt to sync Music.

Are you able to test while connected to an alternate network? For example, if you're using your iPhone and you're connected to a Wi-Fi network while attempting to add music, disable Wi-Fi in Settings > Wi-Fi then while connected to your cellular network test adding music to your library.

Do you happen to have any profiles or VPN software installed on your devices? This can also impact your connection to Apple servers as outlined here: Check VPN (Virtual Private Network) and third-party software to help resolve network connectivity issues - Apple Support

"Check basic settings on your device

Start by checking some basic settings:

  • Make sure the date, time, and time zone are set accurately on your device. Learn how to set the date and time on your MaciPhoneiPad, or iPod touch.
  • Make sure your device's software is up to date. Install any available software updates and then restart your device.
  • Restart your modem and router.
  • Try switching to another network. If your connectivity issue is resolved by joining a different network, check with your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or network administrator to make sure your network is working properly for the features and apps you want to use.

Check for VPN connections and third-party firewall or security software

Some types of software, including VPN apps or configuration profiles, may have settings or restrictions that can cause connectivity issues. Types of software that could affect connectivity include:

  • VPN (Virtual Private Network) apps
  • Managed configuration profiles
  • Firewall apps
  • Anti-virus apps
  • Parental control apps
  • Content blockers

Review the apps on your device to see if these types of apps or configuration profiles are installed.

On iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, scroll through your installed apps and check for VPN software or configuration profiles in Settings.

  • Settings > General > VPN (even if it says Not Connected)
  • Settings > General > Profile (if this option doesn't exist, profiles are not installed)

On Mac, check your Applications folder in the Finder and check for configuration profiles in System Preferences > Profiles.

If any of these types of apps are installed on your device, you may need to delete them to resolve the connectivity issue. Use caution if you choose to do this, since deleting an app or changing a configuration profile could affect how you use your device. For example, if you delete a configuration profile installed by your organization or school, your device may not work with that network."

If you're still unable to sync your music between devices, we'd suggest that you contact Apple directly to investigate this further with you. You can reach them here: Contact Apple Support

Kind regards.

As I stated above, this problem only started after the latest operationg system iOS 17 and it's recent security patches were installed.

I restarted my iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, laptop and iMac several times to no avail many times afterwards.

Everything was fine adding songs and syncing my devices until the new operating system was installed.

And by looking at the recent new problem questions on here, I am not the only one suffering the exact same thing.

A patch is needed to repair this glitch for all of us suffering the same thing.

Normally the devices and computers all sync together automatically no problem, but since the new updates they no longer sync at all.

The only thing that syncs is the photos added. The music no longer syncs on anything anymore, manually or automatically.

There is no error message, nothing at all.

When I try to add music via the cross button to add music doesn't work anymore, when pressing it it nothing happens and no longer says added to library, and therefore does not add the music to my library.

Hope that helps?

Everything was fine until I installed the new iOS7 operating system and it's update.

It sounds to me like a software glitch that needs patching to fix this problem.

I am having no problem with my localised network settings or my internet which is working perfectly fine.

I only listen to my music on my Apple TV Music app and my iPad.

The iPad is only synced with my iMac.

Before the installation of the new operating system and their subsequent updates, I had no problems whatsoever adding music to my library on my iPad and Apple TV Music app, and my iPad would synch with my iMac no problem with all new music added to my Music Library.

I have no VPN apps.

The only profile on all devices is my own.

I have no firewall or anti-virus apps.

I have no parental controls on any of my devices.

I have no content blockers on any of my devices.

As I have said numerous times, before I installed the new operation system iOS7 to my iPad and my Apple TV a week ago, everything was fine. I could add music to my library no problem and everything synched with each other.

Since the installation of the new operating system iOS7 and it's subsequent additional security updates, I can no longer add music on my iPad and Apple TV Music app, and since then nothing has been synched on my Music app.

The only explanation is that the new operating system is glitching the Music app causing me to no longer be able to add music to my library via my iPad and my Apple TV Music app, and no longer sync my library too.

I have seen many people on here experiencing exactly the same thing as I am since installing the new operation system iOS7.

The answer would be a update patch for all devices including the Apple TV too, as what is clearly causing this glitch is a breakdown or flutter in the new operating system iOS7.
