Can someone tell me how to automatically sync photos from my phone on my Mac without plugging it in?

The only tool Apple provides these days that does that is iCloud Photos, which also syncs photos from your Mac back to your phone (and iPad if you have one). This solution will likely require paying Apple for additional iCloud storage when you run over the basic 5GB allocation.
