Does anyone know if Canon has updated the driver software on the G7020 for new Mac IOS?

My software on my Mac updated to Sonoma 14.0 and now my Canon printer (PIXMA G7020) wont scan. Some research says Canon needs to update the driver. Is this correct?

Hi,

The Canon G7020 is listed in About AirPrint - Apple Support as a model supporting Apple's AirPrint technology. This means that macOS 14 Sonoma printing should not require an extra driver, nor any other software, provided that the printer and the Mac computer are connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router). Is this the way your printer is connected?

You may want to try a printing system reset and then re-adding the printer.

Reset the printing system on your Mac to solve a problem – Apple Support (UK)

Add a printer to your printer list so you can use it on Mac – Apple Support (UK)

macOS 14 Sonoma software on Canon's support site does not appear to be for printing. There is one scanner utility.

If necessary, you could perhaps also check whether Apple's Image Capture would work for scanning.

Quite by incident, and for the first time ever, I have utilised the Scan function of Image Capture (in Sonoma) with my Canon MG5760. It works.

Not the Print function however, seems Canon has not updated its drivers for the new OS, and I need to revert to Mojave in an older machine to print using either the Canon, or a Brother mono laser.
