My chrome browser new tab button didn’t take me to new tab, rather it always redirects to a website. So I decided to see any problems in my activity monitor. But when I click activity monitor, it doesn’t open and shows a pop up messages that activity monitor quits unexpectedly. I tried many times, but it still not opening.

Getting Activity Monitor to Work:
Try in Safe Mode:
Boot in Safe Mode. See if you can then access Activity Monitor while booted into Safe Mode. Once tried, reboot, logging in normally, trying this once more. Go here: Start Up your Mac in Safe Mode - Apple Support
