Apple this is a horrible answer to this posters question. I have a iPhone 14 Pro Max and I just purchased a new 2024 Sierra Ultimate and when I have Apple CarPlay connected to the radio it will cut off audio to the current station or source I am listening to on the radio. The only fix for this is to power down the iPhone and power it back up to reconnect it to car play.
I have also been successful disabling Apple car play in the iphone(disabling car play in the radio does not do anything) however Apple does not make any short cuts for Apple car play so it is very dangerous driving down the road trying to search for Apple car play on your iPhone while driving, then enabling it and going into the radio to reconnect it.
Apple - this is is so frustrating that for the first time in 16 years I am probably going to end my Apple life and go buy a google pixel so that I can have a proper in car experience. I care so little about the differences between Apple and android, I can’t believe such a small feature is driving me this crazy(pun intended). You should however know this is a major problem that is not safe for your users who are constantly distracted by the cutting in and out of audio on their radio because of the signals the radio is getting from their iPhone. After your answer to the last poster I do not expect much of a response.
