I just bought a new iMac 24" computer. I noticed that the Numbers Recent file does not show spreadsheets recently opened. Upon further investigation, I see that the Recents file in Finder is also not working. How do I activate these files?

I had this same issue after I migrated from a M1 MacBook Air to a M2 MacBook Air. I had to force Spotlight to re-index, and that seemed to do the trick (for now anyway).

You indicate using macOS Ventura 13.4. Try to upgrade to 13.6.
The upgrade did not solve the problem but thanks for the effort. Any other ideas?
