Today I reset my imac due to a problem, but for some reason, the activation lock has said that I need to login with my old apple ID in which the corresponding web address has been deleted. My phone number has also updated since then, so I can’t use that to verify myself either.Is there a way to speed up the 21 hour wait before the instructions appear on my current phone number (that might not work)?

No. The best that you may be able to do is to start an unlock request with Apple so long as you can provide the original purchase receipt. But, that process will take a while to complete.
Keep in mind with muguy’s suggestion that Apple may decline the activation lock removal request from their end because you can use account recovery to complete it from your end.
