Apple Watch Screen Brightness in Low Light too low

Anyone have any luck with hacking the screen brightness in dim light on watchOS 10? In watchOS 9 if you pulled up the phone keypad on the watch and backed out the screen brightness would ramp up in low light for a few minutes. In watchOS 10 that’s now been “fixed”. I have a hard time seeing in low light conditions and screen dimming at night is rough for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ve turned up screen brightness as far as it will go but ambient light sensor pulls it way down in dark rooms. I've submitted an accessibility feature request but was hoping there was some work around that someone might've found like the watchOS 9 "bug".
