My iPhone 13 Mini updated to iOS 16.7, not ios 17

I have an iPhone 13 Mini, and I just clicked on “Check for Updates”. The update option was iOS 16.7.

im surprised that it wasn’t for iOS 17, since I have a newer phone. But I’m also thinking this might be okay, since I’m seeing so many issues on the forum.

anyone else?

If you didn't update to iOS 17 when it first came out, did you swipe up the screen on the update page, where the offer to install iOS 17 is located? For me, it was much lower on that page. If you still don't see it, are you by chance running Beta software on your iPhone. The option to update to the public release of iOS 17 wouldn't be there if you've been running Beta. You'd need to remove the beta profile to get iOS 17 and the current version of iOS 17 is 17.1.1

Updating an iPhone 13 mini:

When it comes to updating an iPhone, aside from WiFi or a Computer, your only other option is to use Cellular. So, try update Cellular. If of not success, try this once more, this time using a computer...

I'm not having any issues with iOS 17. Every year, when Apple releases the new iOS version, people complain. Things are different in many areas and often people don't do well with change or having to change motor memory.

Open Settings on your iPhone. Tap Software Update. Scan down further on that page and you'll likely see the option to upgrade to iOS 17, only you'll get iOS 17.0.1 as it was released a few days after 17 rolled out to protect users agains some security issues roaming around the planet.

At the bottom of the screen there wasn’t another option to install iOS 17? It’s intent is to allow those not interested in iOS 17 to remain on 16 with the latest version for iOS 16.

Also…I haven’t had any issues with iOS 17 at all. Didn’t experience any of the data transfer issues some did yesterday either during new phone setup.
