*****@me.com (alias) cannot send or receive email. Sending an email to that address from Microsoft returns a "doesn't exist" message. Everything I've been able to find online says it is fine. The problem is I have several accounts that are not working and they want to send me a verification email. My true email is *****@mac.com.

Try waiting 24 hours.
Sometimes it just starts to work later.
Call Apple. They can help you - the second their can submit your logs to the Engineering team.
It can take a few weeks sometimes for them to get to the logs.
Delete the alias, recreate it and retest
That won't work, dot me doesn't work any more. I've since talked to Apple and at the moment, they are stumped. It has been "kicked upstairs" twice without an answer. Still working with them.
