Can we check iPhone for defects before leaving Apple Store?

Hi, I am wondering if Apple allows us to check our iPhone before we leave. More specific, i want to open the box and check it in the Apple Store to make sure that there is no problem with the phone, and if it is i can easily replace it, does Apple allow this action. Also i plan to buy Belkin Tempered Glass which i am not good at installing, so may I ask for the specialist in Apple Store to do it instead.

Thanks. This is the first time I am buying iPhone in store so there is much situation I really don't have experience before.

Yes - you can open your box and check your phone before leaving.

Further, if you purchase one of the Belkin screen protectors that uses the special device Apple Stores have for application, an Apple Store employee will install it for you. (Those application devices are really, really cool, and if they screw it up, they'll redo it for free.)

Note that this only applies during launch if you are picking up your phone in-store; often the employees are too busy to install protectors who had their new phones shipped to their homes for the first week or so.
