iOS 17 airdrop problem

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max on 17.0.1 and when I attempt to airdrop 250 photos to my M1 iPad Pro also on 17.0.1 it just hangs saying “waiting”. I can airdrop 40 or 50 no problem. Previously on 17.0.0 it would show a screen where it asked again what I wanted to do, including airdrop. Very frustrating.

airdrop is missing from my general settings in ios 17.1 Airdrop is no longer coming up when I try to share a photo. I tried going to settings > general > airdrop but that is missing as well. I tried searching airdrop under settings and nothing comes up. When I pull down from the top right corner and hold the network icon the Airdrop receiving button is off. Even if I click on it nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Updated to iOS 16.4 and now there is an AirDrop transfer issue... I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and updated to iOS 16.4 last night and now the AirDrop transfer files facility is playing up. The Photos app initially let me transfer 10 photos without an issue. Fine. Then I went to transfer a further 10 photos however I noticed that the AirDrop icon had now become greyed out. I then added files one at a time and found the icon became greyed out once I'd selected more than 5 photos. I transferred the 5 photos and, on going to transfer 10 photos again, I found that I couldn't transfer more than 1 photo at a time! In short, AirDropping photos has become extremely erratic.I used to be able to transfer 50 - 60 photos at a time with no problem. Does anyone else have this issue? If so does anyone have a solution please? Cheers.

Restart both device
