With new software how can I mute my Apple Watch instantly

underneath the crown (round protruding button) click the smooth button on the side of the watch. This works, regardless of whether you have a Watch face, or the apps face.

I REALLY miss the old set up of scrolling up to mute, set in theater mode, etc. Boo. Hiss.
Since you upgraded to watchOS 10 access to the Control Center, and has changed. You will find the "mute" icon using the following advice.

DO NOT hold the button, as that brings up the Emergency services display.

What version of watchOS are you using?
Not clear. Does not work for me. WHY does Apple screw with the features? 🤬
