iPhone 8+ to iPhone 15 PM Data Transfer/Set-up

Currently I have an iPhone 8+, and have pre-ordered an iPhone 15 PM. Which should be here tomorrow.

I see Apple will give me extended iCloud storage for 21 days. If I remember correctly. I made an encrypted back-up in iTunes last night. The option I was most interested in, is the iPhone to iPhone transfer option.

I have seen some posts say the source phone should be on the newest iOS. iOS 17 is not supported by an iPhone 8+ (currently have 16.6.1). Since the source and destination phones will not have the same iOS, will I be able to use this data transfer/iPhone set-up method? I was hoping to use this one since I have my iTunes library on my phone, and did not want to deal with the checking and unchecking of songs in iTunes.

If I am not able to use the iPhone to iPhone option, would it be better to use the iCloud or iTunes restore? Just for some additional information, I do have 1Password on my phone, so I am not too concerned about having to log into apps again.

Since I did not see a place to edit my original post, I will add an update here.

I was able to use the iPhone to iPhone transfer in this scenario. My 8+ had ≈176GB of data. The transfer said it was initially going to take around 1 hour. However, it ended up only taking around 40 minutes. Everything from photos/videos, to my iTunes library, to apps seemed to transfer over completely.
