Apple TV sleeping in the middle of streaming!

My apple TV sleeps while streaming music from my computer. Does anyone know why this is, does Apple know about this issue? Are they making it difficult for users so they will purchase Apple Music??

I have called Apple over this issue probably seven times in the last year.

Hi Mark J1,

You can check your settings to see how long before your Apple TV automatically turns off. The guide here and steps below will assist: Turn Apple TV on or off

"You can set how long Apple TV waits before automatically turning off.

  1. Open Settings   on Apple TV.
  2. Go to General > Sleep After and choose an option."

If using AirPlay you can also check your details with the guide here: Use AirPlay to stream audio and video on Apple TV, and check your macOS sleep settings: Set sleep and wake settings for your Mac

If this changed with an update and for more assistance, reach out to Apple directly to further assist. Get Support

Best.

Thanks but that is not a solution that is a workaround that will waste energy and is not the way the device is intended to work. Doing this will leave the TV on longer if somebody walks away from it. There is no reason why the device should go to sleep while it is actively streaming. It is unbelievable that Apple has not addressed this yet.
