Clock widget on Lock Screen shows AM/PM on 24hr time after iOS 17 update. Any way to fix this myself? Half the point of 24h time is so you don’t need AM/PM. No idea why Apple would add the morning/night designations.
I can’t ever get it to show am/pm and it’s occasionally annoying to not know which it is. 24 hour time confuses me a bit more though.
Weirdly all the old school iPhones with the home button would show you am/pm all the time. But as soon as they made the notch display and still with the Dynamic Island it won’t ever say whether it’s am or pm even when there’s room to show it. Like is there some reason why they took it out.
Also apple can you do a text/iMessage indicator in the Dynamic Island? It’s one thing I kind of miss from android.

You posted this just too late for me to check here in UK, my iPhone now shows 00:33 so there is no am/pm at least for another 12 hours.
Can you please provide details of the settings for your clock widget, because there are many options and settings available. So far I'm not even sure which widget you have selected!
If you can get all the relevant details to let someone install and reproduce your problem you can post a bug report direct to Apple's product developers using the Feedback page..
Yeah, their software is an absolutd mess now. This is just one of the plethora of issues I'm having with IOS on my brand new, $1,500 iPhone 15 Pro Max 512GB.
Same here, happens when running English (US) locale but staying in Europe with 24h time setting...
One of "features" introduced with iOS17...
