MacBook Pro - Extremely blurry screen

The screen of my MacBook Pro is extremely blurry. I can only see shapes and it is unusable. This problem has already been reported by other users (see here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254698026?answerId=258878145022&page=2)

I went to an Apple store and showed them the blurry screen. They tried to fix it and did some tests. In the end, they told me that the screen had no external or internal damage and that the diagnostic said everything was working fine (despite the screen being clearly unusable). My MacBook Pro is 1 years and 2 months old.

They suggested I use an external monitor or I pay $600 for a new MacBook Pro monitor.

I'm posting this here so Apple knows that this is an issue and hopefully it gets solved.

Thanks. Unfortunately we already tried all the steps you mention (I took the laptop to an Apple Store) and they didn't work. Yes, I had a backup.

The problem seems to be more serious and the person at the Apple Store didn't know what the issue was. This reflects the experience of other users with the same problem (see the link that I shared for more details).

Thank you for the screenshot.

Getting the Mac's Screen Back to Normal:

Two Major Thoughts:

A. Restore form a Backup:

Did you create a backup of your Mac prior to upgrading? Is so, then restore from the backup. If not, then take this as a learning experience, knowing to always backup your Mac, prior making any major changes to your Mac (i.e. upgrading your MacOS).

B. Boot in Safe Mode:

In Safe ModeLogin Items do not run at login, certain preferences are set aside, and damaged system files are then reset. So, once booted in to Safe Mode, wait 30 seconds, and then boot up normally, attempting another update install. For instructions, go here: How to Use safe Mode on your Mac - Apple Support

C. Reinstall the macOS:

Nothing would be deleted. It's just that items that have become corrupted or deleted, would be replaced or reinstalled back to where they should be. Go Here: How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple Support.Important: Be certain to create a backup of your Mac prior to performing the reinstall. That way, you can have something to restore from the Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Once reinstalled, try this once more, seeing if you still get this error.

LogicBoard Being the Culprit:

Based on Personal Experience...

Getting the Logic Board Replaced:

As for getting this serviced, do you have AppleCare+ with this? Apple gives you a one-year, out-of-the-box limited warranty for defective items. Either way (warranty-covered or not), have Apple perform the replacement. If there are no nearby stores, or if you cannot get to one on your own, then have Apple ship you a box. You'd ship it to them, and they include instructions of what to do before sending it in.

A Bit of a Story:

During the days of COVID, I had to send in my 2017 15" MBP 11 times, due to a loose connection between the LogicBoard and the screen. Being an absolutely defective device(nothing on my part), and patient, Apple gave me a free $2,500 USD upgrade, for just the price of the AppleCare+ I purchased with it.
