Alphabetize a list that is NOT in a table using Pages.

It strikes me as absurd that Pages doesn’t seem to have a way to alphabetize lists unless they’re in table format. Do I really have to install something separate to do this simple and frequently used (for me) task? Please tell me you’re going to do something about this lapse, Apple!

I’m using the Pages app on an iPad Pro running IOS 16.6.1. Thinking about going into my office to try same on my iMac. I shouldn’t have to, though!

It has never been an Apple design goal to compete on features with MS Word, or even create an MS Word clone. Had they done so, then like LibreOffice Writer (or MS Word itself) there would be a Sort… feature that would address your need for body text list sorting.

Since the Apple product teams do not participate in these user-supported communities, you can send direct feedback to the Pages product team from its application menu. As the Pages product team has not implemented what you want since its inception in 2005, don't expect miracles if you don't want to use the free WordService solution for its columnar text sorting capability.

I have often recommended that users employ the right tool for their tasks and that is not always Pages when there is a missing feature that compromises productivity.
