Delete "historical" calendar events from my calendars

When adding a new calendar event various old events are suggested - some from years ago - I do not need these or want these suggestions - some concern bereavement - not nice.

How do I rid my calendars of all of these old events?

I have minimised the sync to 2 weeks and turned off SIRI suggestions and I do not want fixes suggesting 3rd party software or apps - I just want rid of the history please.

Can you help? Thank you

Try this:

go to your calendar settings, go down to sync and change how far back it goes (2 weeks, 1 month back, 3 months, 6 months or all). Any old unwanted events that you don’t want to be suggested anymore should stop showing up

An already considered common sense approach - thank you. However it would take me a long time to do that, time that I will never get back - ever.

I was looking for a less time consuming fix - I am sure this issue is not unique to me - is there an Apple fix out there?
